Cookie-Stuffing Targeting ipowerweb.com
Cookie-Stuffing Targeting Major Affiliate Merchants - Ben Edelman

This page reports cookie-stuffing by bids2buy.com, targeting ipowerweb.com.

As of November 6, the http://www.bids2buy.com/coupon-iPowerWeb.asp page was #14 in Google results for "ipowerweb coupon" (without quotes). This latter URL included the following JavaScript code (line breaks added), which opened a CJ tracking link in a new window:

<script language="JavaScript">
window.focus();
setTimeout("window.focus()",1000);
try { var sq=window.open('http://www.qksrv.net/click-1525933-8998750','sq');sq.blur();}
catch (e) {}
</script>

I captured the resulting on-screen display in a video (WindowsMedia format, view in Full Screen mode). I also preserved a full packet log of these findings.

In my testing, this is but one of many affiilate web sites targeting this and other merchants. For example, the current number two Google result for "ipowerweb coupon" is www.consumernow.com/iPowerWeb_coupon , which uses cookie stuffing precisely along the lines of that shown as to consumernow's targeting of Toshiba, Netzero, JCWhitney, and DentalPlans.
